MTG Star Trek Release Dates
- Tabletop release: November 13, 2026. Prerelease runs November 6 through 12, and MTG Arena receives the set November 10.
- WPN stores may sell the set's products during prerelease week under the early-sales policy described by Wizards; that does not make every retailer's release date November 6.
- If you want to open packs and build at prerelease, book an event seat that includes a Prerelease Pack. Buying a Bundle separately won’t register you for the event.
- The Beginner Box was canceled worldwide on September 21, 2026. Wizards says no other Star Trek products are affected.
- If you preordered the Beginner Box, ask your retailer how it will handle the cancellation. An old listing doesn’t mean the box is coming back.

Star Trek Product Comparison
| Product | US MSRP | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Play Booster | $6.99 | Draft, Sealed and ordinary pack opening; 30 packs per display. |
| Collector Booster | $37.99 | Special finishes and a chance at signed cards; 12 packs per display. |
| Commander Deck | $74.99 | A ready-to-play 100-card deck with one foil face commander. |
| Collector’s Edition Commander Deck | $159.99 | A ready-to-play 100-card deck in Surge Foil. |
| Bundle | $69.99 | Nine Play Boosters, lands, one foil promo, storage and a spindown. |
| Beam Me Up Bundle | $99.99 | Eight Play Boosters, one Collector Booster and two schematic promos. |
| Draft Night | $119.99 | A four-player Pick-Two Draft kit with 12 Play Boosters and one Collector Booster. |
| Scene Box | $41.99 | Six specified foil scene cards, three Play Boosters, six art cards and an easel. |
- These are Wizards' announced US manufacturer suggested retail prices (MSRPs), checked October 11, 2026. They are not current retailer offers, delivered prices or singles values.
- To play Commander immediately when your order arrives, choose a Commander Deck. Packs give you cards to build with; they do not promise a functional deck.
- For a small group that wants to draft together, start with Draft Night. Its four-player Pick-Two format makes more sense for that evening than paying for premium foil packs.
- For a specific illustrated scene, choose its Scene Box. You know the six scene cards you are getting; the three boosters are the random part.
- If you only want one card for an existing deck, compare that exact single before buying a pile of packs. Buy packs if you want to open them; buy the single if that’s the card you came for.
Nine packs or a mix
Bundle vs Beam Me Up Bundle
- The regular Bundle has nine Play Boosters. Beam Me Up changes that to eight Play Boosters and one Collector Booster.
- Both include 15 foil and 15 nonfoil basic lands, including five full-art lands in each finish, reference cards, an oversized spindown and a storage box.
- The regular Bundle has one foil promo. Beam Me Up has two of eight possible foil schematic Spacecraft promos, so do not assume the pair pictured on a listing is guaranteed.
- At suggested prices, Beam Me Up costs $30 more. You trade one Play Booster for one Collector Booster and get a different promo offering.
- The individual pack MSRPs differ by $31: $37.99 minus $6.99. That gives you a way to compare the pack mix, but it does not establish the market value of the promos or the cards you will open.
- Choose the regular Bundle if you want more ordinary packs and have little interest in Collector treatments. Consider Beam Me Up if you already wanted a Collector pack and like the schematic promos.
- Before paying a retailer premium, compare the actual two delivered prices. The $30 difference above applies only when both products sell at their suggested prices.

A complete deck
Star Trek Commander Decks and Collector Editions
- The four deck names are Federation Fleet, Landing Party, Klingon Fury and We Are the Borg. Choose a theme you want to play before choosing a foil finish.
- Each regular deck has a 100-card ready-to-play list, with a foil borderless face commander and 99 nonfoil cards, plus ten double-sided tokens, a reference card and a deck box.
- Collector’s Edition changes the 100 cards to Surge Foil and includes ten tokens that are Surge Foil on one side. Paying more changes the treatment; this is not an announcement of a stronger deck.
- At MSRP, the Collector’s Edition premium is $85 per deck: $159.99 minus $74.99. You’re paying that extra for Surge Foils, so choose the regular deck if you mainly want to play.
- Compare the complete decklists before choosing the theme you want to play.

Know the treatment
Star Trek Signed Cards, Stardates and Shock Lands
- Wizards' collecting article describes seven signed headliner cards with approximately 250 copies of each. They can appear in Collector Boosters of any language, while the signed cards themselves are English.
- Those populations do not tell you the chance of opening one in a pack. Without a matching Collector Booster production total, you cannot turn 250 signed copies into pack odds.
- The 30 Stardates reprints can appear nonfoil in Play and Collector Boosters; their traditional foils appear only in Collector Boosters.
- All ten shock lands receive LCARS (Library Computer Access and Retrieval System) treatments, styled after Star Trek’s computer displays. Nonfoil and traditional foil versions can appear in Play and Collector Boosters, while Surge Foils are confined to Collector Boosters.
- Play Boosters therefore still offer special artwork. Buy Collector Boosters because you want the particular treatment opportunities, rather than assuming ordinary packs contain only ordinary frames.
- Keep set codes separate: TRK is the main set, TRC is the Commander set, and SDS marks Stardates cards. Opening a reprint in a new set does not by itself make that reprint Standard-legal.
- Wizards permits TRK and SDS cards opened from Play Boosters in this set’s Draft and Sealed pools. That Limited permission is separate from a card’s eligibility in a constructed deck.
Your next step
Star Trek Preorder Checklist
- Choose a regular Commander Deck for a ready-to-play game, Draft Night for a four-player draft, or a Bundle for packs and accessories.
- Check the exact edition, language, delivered price and shipment date before you order.
- For a specific schematic promo, scene card or signed character, compare the single you want with the product’s actual guaranteed contents.
- For prerelease, confirm the store’s event time, entry price and what the ticket includes. An early product sale and an event entry are separate purchases.
- For a canceled Beginner Box order, contact your retailer before ordering an alternative; do not assume your existing payment transfers automatically.
- For another announced crossover, see our Marvel Darkhold Destiny product guide. You can follow revealed cards on the MTG price tracker.
