Homeworlds Release Dates and Delays
- Homeworlds released October 9, 2026 on its general schedule, following an October 2 prerelease. That date does not guarantee every local store received every product.
- Fantasy Flight’s September 25 release update moves Australia and New Zealand to an October 15 prerelease and October 16 release. The publisher identifies that as the only official change to the set’s prerelease and release dates.
- For the United States, the update directs buyers to their local store to learn which products are delayed. It does not announce a replacement nationwide release date.
- Carbonite delays have worldwide reach. Fantasy Flight expected most retailers to have limited or no Carbonite stock at prerelease and release, including territories beyond the specific list of guaranteed prerelease misses.
- The September 25 update still gives no worldwide Carbonite arrival date as of October 11. Before you pay, ask whether your seller has the packs in hand or is waiting for a shipment.

Availability
Homeworlds Regional Product Availability
| Region | Publisher position | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Australia and New Zealand | October 15 prerelease; October 16 release. | Confirm your event follows the revised local dates. |
| United States | Store-dependent product delays. | Ask which exact products are in stock or allocated to your order. |
| China, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam | Standard and Carbonite boosters, prerelease boxes and Spotlight Decks listed as delayed. | Confirm the intended product before traveling or paying for an event. |
| Colombia, Mexico, South Africa and United Arab Emirates | Those products plus Weekly Play Kits listed as delayed. | Ask separately about product and organized-play support. |
| Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Nordics, Romania, Taiwan and United Kingdom | Carbonite specifically listed. | That list does not promise unlimited availability of other products. |
- These are announced regional delays, not a live inventory feed. Your store may have received a shipment, so ask about the exact product you want.
- Before traveling to an event, confirm that the organizer has both your seat and the packs you’ll use.
- If your seller proposes a substitute, compare the exact product and price first. A standard booster and a Carbonite booster do not offer the same collecting experience.
Choose how to play
Homeworlds Products: Spotlight Decks, Boosters and Carbonite
| Product | What you receive | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Chewbacca Spotlight Deck | A prebuilt, ready-to-play 50-card deck centered on Chewbacca. | Players who want low-cost units and extra unit attacks. |
| Grand Moff Tarkin Spotlight Deck | A prebuilt, ready-to-play 50-card deck centered on Tarkin and the Death Star. | Players who want to defend their base and build toward a late-game leader. |
| Standard booster | 16 cards, including a rare or legendary slot and a Hyperspace-foil card. | Drafting, Sealed and ordinary collection building. |
| Prerelease Box | Six boosters plus prerelease materials. | A prerelease pool; check whether a purchase includes event entry. |
| Carbonite booster | Premium variant treatments, including exclusive Prestige variants. | Collectors who specifically want those treatments. |
- The official product page lists approximately nine commons, three uncommons, one rare or legendary, one leader, one base/token and one Hyperspace-foil card per standard pack. Those slot descriptions do not supply equal odds for every card.
- If you want to sit down and play with a chosen leader, start with its Spotlight Deck. You avoid having to open the right assortment of random cards before your first game.
- If you want to build from opened packs, choose standard boosters or the appropriate event product. Decide the activity first, then compare the delivered prices available to you.
- Fantasy Flight describes Carbonite as limited and not scheduled for reprinting. It’s worth choosing for the treatments you want, but the limited print run is not a promise that buying it will make money.
- If you want only one card for an existing deck, compare that single with the delivered pack price. The premium treatments are a collecting choice, not evidence that opening Carbonite will cover its cost.

The attacking deck
Chewbacca Spotlight Deck: Extra Unit Attacks
- The publisher’s deck preview describes a Command and Heroism deck with many units costing three or less. Chewbacca lets an exhausted friendly unit attack an enemy unit; his leader-side ability costs two resources and exhausts Chewbacca.
- After Chewbacca deploys, his unit-side action costs no resources and has an explicit once-per-round limit. It does not let you select the enemy base as the attack target.
- On the leader side, exhaustion is a cost, not a printed once-per-round limit. If another effect readies Chewbacca, you can pay two resources and exhaust him again; that does not remove the deployed side’s once-per-round restriction.
- Hijacked AT-ST normally enters exhausted and cannot ready during the next regroup phase. Chewbacca lets it attack an eligible enemy unit without readying first; ordinary arena and targeting restrictions still apply.
- Hijacked AT-ST has Overwhelm, so excess damage from that unit fight can still hit the opposing base. Chewbacca prevents choosing the base as the attack target, not every way of dealing base damage.
- Leia Organa rewards playing units that cost three or less, while Ewok Archers can gain Ambush when you control another unit at that cost. Choose Chewbacca if you enjoy managing several units and finding profitable fights.
The defending deck
Grand Moff Tarkin Spotlight Deck: Fortify and the Death Star
- Tarkin is a Vigilance and Villainy leader built around Fortify upgrades, which attach to your base instead of a unit. His ability removes aspect penalties for Fortify upgrades you play; it does not make every off-aspect card cheaper.
- The leader deploys at nine resources into the Death Star, a space-arena leader unit. Its base-defeat ability triggers when the regroup phase starts, not when it deploys. You may then defeat a base with ten or less remaining HP (hit points).
- Alliance Shield Generator and Sinister War Memorial help defend your base.
- Director Krennic draws a card when he attacks while your base is upgraded. Keep a Fortify upgrade on your base to turn those attacks into extra cards.
- When you play Remote Scout, it searches the top eight cards of your deck for an upgrade. It can miss if those cards contain none.
- Choose Tarkin if you enjoy defending and planning several rounds ahead. Before spending a turn on another fortification, consider whether you also need a unit to contest the opponent’s board.
- Reaching nine resources alone is not a promise of an immediate win. The Death Star must stay in play until its regroup trigger, and the base must be at ten or less remaining HP when you use that effect. Opponents can act before regroup to remove the station or change the base’s remaining HP.

Read the board
Homeworlds Fortify, Beast and Weakness Tokens
- Fantasy Flight’s set introduction shows Beast tokens with 3 power and 3 HP. Bring a clear way to represent them if your cards create them.
- Each Weakness token gives its attached unit -1 power and -1 HP, the negative counterpart to Experience. Recheck damage already on the unit: reducing its HP can defeat it without another attack.
- Fortify adds upgrades to your base, so keep them clearly visible beside it. Do not mix them into your resources or treat them as upgrades attached to a defending unit.
- Homeworlds also uses base traits such as Endor, Kashyyyk, Naboo and Tatooine. If a card names one of those traits, the actual base you chose can matter beyond its aspect and HP.
- For a rules dispute, check the current official rules and the full text on the card.
Before you go
Homeworlds Launch Checklist
- Start with Chewbacca if you want extra unit attacks, Tarkin if you want to fortify your base, or standard boosters if you want to draft.
- Confirm your store has the exact product and language at the price you expect.
- In Australia or New Zealand, use the October 15 and 16 local dates when checking prerelease and release plans.
- If you’re upgrading a deck you already own, compare the single you need before buying extra packs.
- For Carbonite, confirm that the seller is offering physical stock or a clearly described preorder. Scarcity language does not establish a delivery date.
- You can browse our Star Wars Unlimited sealed deals or read other game and product guides.
