verdict
The Oddlands Price and Verdict
- Price: ten matching basics cost $29.99 nonfoil or $39.99 foil. Wizards announcement.
- All prices in this guide are in US dollars, before tax and shipping.
- With the promotion: buy three nonfoil drops for $59.98, or three foil drops for $79.98, and you get 30 lands at about $2.00 or $2.67 each.
- Resale value: we can't yet calculate the dollar gap or return for Oddlands, however, for comparison, ten lands at the $4.79 Strange Sands nonfoil median would be worth $47.90, or $17.91 more than one $29.99 drop, covering 159.7% of its price before costs.
- For foil, ten lands at the $5.91 median of the four Astrology foil lands would be worth $59.10, or $19.11 more than one $39.99 Oddlands drop, covering 147.8% of its price before costs.
- Strange Sands has no foil prices in our snapshot, and each Astrology drop contains five matching lands rather than ten, so the foil comparison is less direct.
- Verdict: worth considering if you like the artwork and will use the lands you buy.
- For resale: we need actual Oddlands prices and supply details before we can say whether it looks worthwhile.
- These medians come from older Secret Lair lands, so they don't tell us what Oddlands will sell for.

The Oddlands Card Counts
| Drop | Contents | Advertised total |
|---|---|---|
| Plains #2116 | 10 Plains of the selected finish | 10 cards |
| Island #2117 | 10 Islands of the selected finish | 10 cards |
| Swamp #2118 | 10 Swamps of the selected finish | 10 cards |
| Mountain #2119 | 10 Mountains of the selected finish | 10 cards |
| Forest #2120 | 10 Forests of the selected finish | 10 cards |
- Each drop contains ten of one basic land type, not two of each type and not fifty basics.
- One of each of the five drops gives 50 lands: ten Plains, ten Islands, ten Swamps, ten Mountains, and ten Forests.
- Wizards sells the five land types as separate drops. Wizards announcement.
- We're counting only the ten advertised basic lands.
- If the drop includes an extra bonus card, we haven’t added any value for it.

The Oddlands Buy Two, Get One Free Promotion
- Wizards' exact wording:
For every three (3) copies of The Oddlands you add to your cart, we'll give you the cheapest one for free.
Wizards announcement. - If you buy three Oddlands drops, you'll get the least expensive of the three for free. Wizards announcement.
- You aren't getting a fourth one for free.
- Nonfoil example: $29.99 + $29.99 + $29.99 - $29.99 = $59.98 for three drops containing 30 lands.
- Wizards says the offer applies to every three copies, so we've calculated one free drop for each group of three.
- The announcement names Oddlands for this offer, but doesn't include the Commander deck.
- The mixed-finish examples assume you can choose foil and nonfoil drops together, but we haven't confirmed that at checkout.
- For example, if mixed finishes qualify, a foil Forest, a foil Plains, and a nonfoil Swamp would make the cheaper Swamp drop free.
- The totals below follow the announced offer; we haven't tested it at checkout.
- We still need the launch storefront to confirm order limits and which drops become free in larger orders that mix finishes.
| Cart | Lands | Pay | Per land |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 nonfoil drop | 10 | $29.99 | $3.00 |
| 1 foil drop | 10 | $39.99 | $4.00 |
| 3 nonfoil drops | 30 | $59.98 | $2.00 |
| 3 foil drops | 30 | $79.98 | $2.67 |
| 4 nonfoil drops | 40 | $89.97 | $2.25 |
| 4 foil drops | 40 | $119.97 | $3.00 |
| 2 foil + 1 nonfoil | 30 | $79.98 | $2.67 blended |
| 1 foil + 2 nonfoil | 30 | $69.98 | $2.33 blended |
| 5 nonfoil, one of each type | 50 | $119.96 | $2.40 |
| 6 nonfoil drops | 60 | $119.96 | $2.00 |
| 5 foil, one of each type | 50 | $159.96 | $3.20 |
| 6 foil drops | 60 | $159.96 | $2.67 |
- If you buy five or six drops in the same finish, the calculated total is the same because the sixth gives you a second free drop.
- Getting one of three equally priced drops free saves 33.3% before tax and shipping; getting a fourth free would save 25%.
- For orders that mix finishes, the per-land price averages all the foil and nonfoil lands together.
- The US storefront advertises free shipping on orders over $99, subject to its terms.
- Three nonfoil drops at $59.98 or three foil drops at $79.98 won't reach that free-shipping threshold.
- Check your discounted total and shipping charge before paying.
- Buying lands you don't want just to get free shipping can cost more than it saves.

The Oddlands Print-to-Demand Status
- Not confirmed as print to demand as of September 27, 2026.
- Wizards guarantees Commander deck orders placed during its stated 24-hour window, but hasn't made the same promise for Oddlands. Wizards announcement.
- The Secret Lair FAQ says most drops have limited, preprinted stock and some are print on demand, but it doesn't settle which applies to Oddlands.
- When we checked the US Chaos Vault storefront before launch, we couldn't find an Oddlands product page stating how it would be sold.
- Don't assume Oddlands has the deck's guaranteed ordering window.
- We also can't confirm that Oddlands has a limited print run.
- Launch: September 28, 2026, at 9 a.m. Pacific / noon Eastern.
- We need the Oddlands product page or a clarification from Wizards to answer this for certain.

Full-Art Secret Lair Basic Land Comparisons
| Comparison | Advertised contents | Quantity effect |
|---|---|---|
| The Strange Sands | 10 of one type per separate drop | Like Oddlands, each drop supplies ten copies of the chosen artwork. |
| Kozyndan: The Lands | 5 total: one of each type | One copy of each artwork per drop; ten matching Islands require ten drops. |
| The Astrology Lands | 5 of one type per sign-specific drop | Half as many matching lands; each drop launched at $29.99 nonfoil / $39.99 foil. |
- We're comparing Oddlands only with other full-art Secret Lair basic lands.
- We chose all five Strange Sands lands because you get ten matching copies, and all five Kozyndan lands because you get one of each type.
- We also included the first four Astrology releases that Wizards documented together.
- That gives us 14 exact printings across three product families, with foil and nonfoil prices listed separately.
- An individual Astrology drop launched at about $6 per nonfoil land or $8 per foil land, twice Oddlands' price per land before the promotion.
- Astrology's larger bundles had their own discounts.
- Ten copies per drop means more lands from each purchase, but it doesn't tell us the total print run.
- We don't know how many drops will sell, how many Wizards will print, or how much buyers will want each artwork and finish.
- Someone collecting one of each artwork may sell their spare Oddlands, while a player filling a deck may use all ten copies.
- These singles prices don't tell us how sealed drops have appreciated or the chance of making a future profit.

Oddlands Value Scenarios and Break-Even Prices
- Strange Sands nonfoil prices span $3.10 to $10.11; the five-artwork median is $4.79.
- Strange Sands Island is the most expensive land in that cycle at $10.11, so using that price for every Oddlands land would give an overly optimistic comparison.
- Strange Sands had no USD foil price in this snapshot, so we've left those prices unavailable rather than using nonfoil prices.
- Kozyndan nonfoil prices span $11.18 to $18.41, while the four sampled Astrology nonfoils span $4.99 to $6.89.
- The Odds and Ends deck also includes four foil copies each of the Oddlands Plains, Island, and Swamp. Wizards announcement.
- Mountain and Forest are absent from the deck's advertised basic-land contents.
- Those three foil lands will have extra copies coming from the deck, but that doesn't prove Mountains or Forests will cost more.
- Here's what 30 nonfoil lands would be worth at different prices, compared with the $59.98 you pay with the promotion.
- These are examples, not predictions of Oddlands prices.
| Assumed per land | Gross value | Gap vs $59.98 | Gross cost coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| $1.00 | $30.00 | -$29.98 | 50.0% |
| $2.00 | $60.00 | $0.02 | 100.0% |
| $3.00 | $90.00 | $30.02 | 150.1% |
| $4.79 | $143.70 | $83.72 | 239.6% |
- At $1 per nonfoil land, you'd get back only 50.0% of what you paid for the three drops, before selling costs.
- At $2 per foil land, 30 lands would total $60: a $19.98 shortfall and 75.0% gross cost coverage against the $79.98 foil trio.
- The coverage percentage is the cards' value divided by what you paid, before costs; it isn't your profit or investment return.
- To cover the price of three drops bought with the promotion, you'd need just under $2 per nonfoil land or about $2.67 per foil land before selling costs.
- If you allow for a 15% selling fee and $0.30 to send each card, you'd need $2.71 per nonfoil land or $3.49 per foil land, rounded up to the next cent.
- That example assumes you sell all 30 cards separately.
- It doesn't include purchase tax, shipping to you, your time, or cards that don't sell.
- Formula: required price per land = (purchase subtotal / 30 + $0.30) / 0.85.
- You know which ten basics you're buying, and we don't have enough evidence to model their future prices.
- We therefore can't give meaningful profit odds, a median opening value, or a simulated profit cushion.

The Oddlands Buying Decision
- If you want 30 matching lands: three drops of that type make the most practical sense, provided the launch order limits allow it.
- If you want all five types: compare the totals for 50 and 60 lands, then choose an extra type you'll actually use.
- If you want one of each artwork: compare singles prices after release with buying five drops and keeping 45 duplicates.
- If you're buying Odds and Ends: remember that the deck already gives you four foil copies each of Plains, Island, and Swamp.
- If you want to resell: the promotion lowers what you pay, but we still don't know the supply or Oddlands singles prices, and selling duplicate lands adds costs.
- Verdict: buy for artwork you like and lands you'll use, then revisit the value when Oddlands prices and supply details are available.
