Buy the best drops, not the whole Superdrop.
Using the usual $29.99 price, all eight nonfoil drops would cost $239.92. The cheapest existing versions of those cards add up to $244.22. That leaves you just $4.30 ahead before tax, shipping, or any price drops caused by the reprints. In practical terms, that is break-even.
If you are putting together a cart, start with Dan Hipp and Gene Luen Yang. Marvel Romance also makes sense if you already wanted Grave Pact and Savor the Moment. Lofi Girl and Ian Miller land right around break-even. For Robin Eisenberg, Marvel Pets, and The Hulk, the art or theme has to be worth the extra cost to you.

How the math works
Replacement cost, not speculative Secret Lair resale value.
For each card, we found the cheapest positive Scryfall-listed price for an English, tournament-legal paper printing. Gold-border cards and memorabilia are left out. We priced nonfoils and foils separately, so the two cheapest versions may come from different sets. Every set name below links to that exact printing on TCGplayer.
The question is simple: if you wanted these cards anyway, what would the cheapest existing versions cost? This is not a prediction of what the new artwork will sell for. We also count unrevealed bonus cards as $0 and leave out taxes, shipping, condition, seller availability, bundle discounts, and any collector premium.
These prices were captured on August 27, 2026. Reprint announcements can push older versions down, so a small margin is much less reassuring than a large one.

The six regular versions add up to just $9.98. Ephemerate is the biggest piece at $4.67, so most of the price has to be justified by the Marvel character art.

$669.29 is replacement cost, not a profit forecast.
If all you need are playable copies, compare the modeled $319.92 foil price with the $244.22 nonfoil replacement total. You would be paying at least $75.70 for the treatments and foil finish before tax and shipping. Dan Hipp has the strongest foil case because Bristly Bill and Training Grounds already have real value in newer printings. The large Lofi, Gene, Robin, and Ian foil totals depend much more on the scarcity of older cards.
The buying plan
Three tiers make more sense than one bundle.
Prioritize: Dan Hipp is the easiest buy to justify. Gene Luen Yang has the highest nonfoil total, and several cards contribute instead of leaving one expensive card to carry the whole drop.
Consider: Marvel Romance clears the price on card value, although Grave Pact supplies 74% of the total. Lofi Girl and Ian Miller are basically full-price art upgrades. Ian is especially dependent on Animar, which makes up about 96% of its nonfoil value.
Buy for the treatment, not the math: Robin Eisenberg costs about $7.93 more than the regular cards. That gap grows to $20.01 for Marvel Pets and $22.63 for The Hulk. The art can still make those worthwhile, but the included cards do not cover the price on their own.
The single most expensive card in each drop accounts for roughly 64% of the full nonfoil total. With only $4.30 separating the bundle price from the value of the regular cards, the full bundle does not leave much room for prices to fall.

The August 31 sale date comes from the official Secret Lair announcement. Reveal coverage supplied the 41-card checklist, including the complete Ian Miller list. The comparable prices come from Scryfall, and the TCGplayer links point to the exact printings used in the math. Sway of the Stars is legal in Commander after Wizards unbanned it in April 2025.

Scryfall had images for 30 of the 41 new cards when we checked. Titanic Ultimatum appeared as SLD #2582 with a placeholder, while the five Lofi Girl and five Robin Eisenberg cards had not been posted yet. We label those gaps instead of filling them with older art or third-party reveal photos.
We also searched TCGplayer for the full Superdrop and all eight individual drop names on August 27, 2026. We did not find an exact sealed preorder listing.
