The short answer
Buy it around $30. Wait if the price is above $45.The Rapunzel Collection Starter Set is one of those products whose value changes completely depending on where you find it. At retail, you pay $6.03 beyond the normal MSRP of four booster packs and receive the portfolio, special foil promo, and collector's guide. At the current marketplace low, you pay $38.66 above the entire product's retail price. That is a 129% markup before tax.
First, know what you are buying
This is a collector bundle, not a starter deck.
The name is easy to misread. There is no preconstructed 60-card deck in the box. You get four randomized Attack of the Vine! booster packs, which contain 48 cards total, plus a Rapunzel portfolio, one special foil Rapunzel promo, and a collector's guide.
That makes it a good first purchase for someone who wants to begin a collection. It does not make it the best first purchase for someone who wants to sit down and play a normal game immediately. A true starter deck or two-player starter product serves that job better.

The retail-price math
At $29.99, the extras cost only $6.03.
An Attack of the Vine! booster pack carries a $5.99 U.S. MSRP. Four packs therefore account for $23.96 of the $29.99 collection's retail price. The remaining $6.03 buys the Rapunzel portfolio, special foil promo, and guide.
That is a sensible bundle. Even if you assign no resale value to the guide, paying about six dollars for a useful portfolio and a special Rapunzel card is easy to defend for a Tangled collector or as a gift.
The current marketplace changes the answer
The presale price turns a fair bundle into an expensive one.
TCGTracking's August 31 pricing snapshot showed a $68.65 low and a $76.44 market price for the sealed collection. The same snapshot put ordinary Attack of the Vine! packs at $9.31 market. Four marketplace-priced packs total $37.24, leaving an implied $39.20 premium for the portfolio, promo, and guide at the collection's market price.
| Comparison | Bundle | Four packs | Premium for extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| At Target retail | $29.99 | $23.96 | $6.03 |
| TCGTracking market | $76.44 | $37.24 | $39.20 |
There is no established TCGTracking market price for the new promo yet, so we are not inventing one. A presale listing is not a guarantee that the card will retain that value after retail supply arrives. The honest conclusion is to value the promo as something you want to own, not as a guaranteed rebate on an inflated sealed purchase.

The randomized part
Four Attack of the Vine! packs
Each pack contains 12 randomized cards. Buying this bundle does not guarantee any particular Attack of the Vine! rare, Legendary, Enchanted, or Iconic card.
Our price ladder
How much should you actually pay?
The extras cost little beyond four packs. This is the range where the product makes sense.
You are paying a noticeable character and availability premium, but it can still work as a gift.
The sealed premium has separated too far from the product's contents. Current $68.65-plus listings fall here.
Release day is September 4, 2026. That matters because mass-retail and local-store inventory can make a thin presale market look very different quickly. Check the delivered price and return policy, and do not assume a scarce listing today means the product will remain scarce.
The right buyer
Who should buy the Rapunzel Collection?
Buy it if:
- You collect Rapunzel or Tangled merchandise.
- You want a compact first Lorcana collection with storage included.
- You can find it near the $29.99 retail price.
- You want a gift that offers both a fixed collectible and four packs to open.
Skip it if:
- You expect a ready-to-play starter deck.
- You only want Attack of the Vine! cards and do not care about the portfolio or promo.
- You are considering the current $68.65-plus marketplace price because you fear missing out.
- You are treating the unpriced promo as guaranteed profit.
Final verdict
The Rapunzel Collection is worth retail, not the hype price.
At $29.99, this is a well-designed collector product. Four packs account for $23.96 at MSRP, so the Rapunzel portfolio, foil promo, and guide ask for only $6.03 more. That is an easy yes for the intended buyer.
At $68.65 or $76.44, it is a no. The product does not suddenly contain more packs, a playable deck, or a promo with a proven resale value. Let release-day inventory do its work and buy the collection when the price gets closer to Target's listed retail price.

What we checked.
Target's exact product listing supplied the $29.99 retail price, September 4 street date, and product-content summary. Target showed the product out of stock when checked September 3, 2026. The $29.99 figure is a retailer-listed price, not a manufacturer MSRP claim. TCGTracking supplied the exact sealed-product, booster-pack, and promo-card records, plus its August 31 TCGplayer pricing snapshot. Marketplace values are quotes, not guaranteed completed-sale prices. Shipping and tax can change the delivered total. We compare the sealed bundle and four packs using like-for-like market fields, and we do not assign the new promo a value while its TCGTracking price block is empty.
