Disclaimer: This is not financial advice. These are TCG Spikes' picks for cards most likely to rise based on disclosed Commander demand, printing depth, and current supply. Prices can move before you buy, and every card can be reprinted.
- Do not chase: thin listings can make a card look repriced before real Commander demand arrives.
- Separate fit from scarcity: a one-print card can still have hundreds or thousands of available copies.
- Expect uneven results: these deck counts are early, small, and still changing before release.
What has already moved
Reality Fracture Cards That Have Already Increased in Price
- Unesh has repriced: TCGplayer history was around $0.94 before the reveal. When rechecked September 17, the page showed 15 listings, a $17.54 lightly played floor, a $19.95 near-mint floor, and a $9.87 market price that was still catching up. We would not chase this move.
- Ichormoon Gauntlet is already expensive: the September 17 TCGplayer search page showed only 25 Oil Slick Raised Foil listings, starting at $85.96, with a $55.68 market price. That is evidence of a premium-treatment repricing, not proof of broad Jace demand.
- Sphinx of the Chimes has reported sales velocity, not a price spike: a third-party retailer tracker reported 230 nonfoil ABU Games sales in twelve hours. We could not independently verify that number from a public ABU sales record. TCGplayer still showed 768 listings, 4,091 copies across 609 sellers, and a $0.30 market price when checked September 17. That supply wall is why Chimes remains a conditional Approach bet.
- Other reported Sphinx sales remain unverified: the same tracker post reported Card Kingdom activity for Sphinx Ambassador, Raffine, Scheming Seer, Conspiracy Unraveler, Magister Sphinx, and Defiler of Dreams. Treat those figures as a community demand signal, not retailer-confirmed sales data.
Bottom line: Unesh's TCGplayer history confirms a sharp move. Ichormoon Gauntlet's Oil Slick treatment is already priced like a buyout. The named retailer totals are third-party reports, so they do not carry the same evidentiary weight.
Why only twelve
Reality Fracture Commander Spec Selection Criteria
- Direct commander fit: every pick advances a revealed commander's primary plan without requiring a speculative subtheme.
- Paper printing depth: we checked paper releases separately from digital-only appearances and promotional versions.
- Live supply: a single printing is not automatically scarce, so current listings, quantities, sellers, and sales history matter.
- Early adoption: EDHREC inclusion rates are useful directional evidence, but these pre-release samples are too small to establish durable demand.
- Sphinx's Approach creates unusual demand: its rules text allows any number of copies in one deck, and Sphinx of the Chimes can discard a matching pair to draw four cards.
- Reprint risk remains: none of these are Reserved List cards, and a Commander reprint can erase the supply thesis.

The Ur-Sphinx Specs
Why this commander matters: its Eminence ability discounts other Sphinx spells from the command zone, then attacking Sphinxes mill every player and let their controller cast cards milled that way for free.
Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign
Unesh is the cleanest Sphinx payoff, and the market found it immediately. TCGplayer history sat near $0.94 before the reveal, while available copies began near $18 on September 17. That move validates the theme, but it also removes most of the easy upside. This is now a card to sell into strength or wait on, not chase.

The Ur-Sphinx wants attacks, and Medomai turns a clean hit into an extra turn. More turns mean more combat steps, more commander triggers, and more chances to connect with the tribe. EDHREC showed Medomai in 234 of the first 296 Ur-Sphinx decks, a 79% inclusion rate. Theros is its only paper printing, but TCGplayer still showed 181 listings and 454 copies on September 17, so this is strong adoption rather than immediate scarcity.

This is not a general Sphinx-tribal pick. Commander is singleton, so Chimes normally cannot find a same-named pair to discard. The thesis exists only because Sphinx's Approach allows any number of copies in the deck. If Approach lists run enough copies to draw pairs consistently, Chimes converts two of them into four new cards. If most Ur-Sphinx decks skip that package, Chimes has little reason to move. Its thousands of listed copies make this a volume-dependent bet.

Once any Sphinx connects, Prowl makes Enigma Thief a discounted evasive body that bounces one nonland permanent per opponent. Its only paper release was Zendikar Rising Commander, but that does not make it scarce: TCGplayer showed 491 listings and 2,006 copies across 478 sellers on September 17. Only 87 of the first 296 Ur-Sphinx decks included it. This is a low-cost watch, not our best Sphinx spec.

Jace, Multiverse Architect Specs
Why this commander matters: Jace's -3 exiles another creature or planeswalker you control, then reveals until a creature or planeswalker enters under your control. Token makers provide expendable battlefield targets without adding weak creature hits to the library.
Evidence limit: EDHREC showed only two Jace decks when checked September 17. These are rules-based candidates, not demonstrated staples.
- Reality Scramble: it puts a disposable token on the bottom, reveals until it finds a permanent sharing a card type, and has Retrace. Commander 2018 and The List provide two paper supply channels, while TCGplayer still showed 550 copies across 189 sellers.
- Chandra, Acolyte of Flame: Chandra creates two temporary creatures Jace can exile from the battlefield. Chandra is also a planeswalker Jace can reveal from the library, and after she resolves she can become the battlefield permanent exiled by a later -3 activation.
- Urabrask's Forge: a noncreature permanent that manufactures expendable creatures every combat keeps both sides of the Polymorph plan clean.

Dack Fayden, Helping Hand Specs
Timing matters: Dack puts the revealed creatures onto your battlefield first, then gives one to each opponent. Enter-the-battlefield drawbacks happen under your control, so Leveler and Sky Swallower do not work here. These picks use a control-change trigger or a continuous drawback instead.
Bronze Bombshell
Once an opponent controls a Bombshell you own, its ability makes that player sacrifice it and take 7 damage. The interaction happens after Dack transfers control, which is the timing the deck actually needs. The price has already moved, so this is the least attractive card to chase.

Steel Golem's restriction applies to whichever player currently controls it. After Dack gives it away, that opponent cannot cast creature spells until they remove or donate it. Weatherlight and Tenth Edition are its two paper set printings, and early Dack lists are already testing it.

Grid Monitor also prevents its current controller from casting creature spells. Dack can hand it to the creature deck while keeping the Dack player's own battlefield clear. Mirrodin remains its only paper printing, although the higher starting price limits upside.

Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel Specs
Why this commander matters: whenever you gain life, Niv lets you pay that much life to draw that many cards. His tap ability supplies the first life-gain trigger while draining every opponent.
- Tainted Sigil counts all life lost by all players that turn, including life Niv paid and life his tap ability made opponents lose. It can therefore rebuild the life total after a large draw. It appeared in 29 of the first 159 Niv lists. Its lone Alara Reborn printing helps, but 782 listed copies across 202 sellers mean current supply is still deep.
- Font of Agonies gets blood counters whenever you pay life, so Niv's optional payment turns it into repeatable creature removal. It appeared in 14 of those 159 early lists. Ravnica Allegiance is its only paper set printing, with a same-set promo also available.
- These are secondary picks because Niv needs a larger engine around them. Tainted Sigil has the better early adoption signal, but neither card is currently scarce on TCGplayer.
Niv-Mizzet Combo Honorable Mentions
Cleanup setup: both loops require Niv-Mizzet and the support card on the battlefield, plus eight cards in hand when your cleanup step begins. Discard to seven, gain 1 life from the discard trigger, pay that 1 life to Niv to draw back to eight, then repeat when the game creates another cleanup step. Because a triggered ability went on the stack during cleanup, Comprehensive Rule 514.3a creates that additional cleanup step after the stack empties.
- Confessor turns the cleanup discard into 1 life, which Niv can immediately convert back into the eighth card. Reddit user elite4koga identified the interaction. Odyssey remains Confessor's only paper printing. This lets you draw through the library, but it does not win by itself, and you can stop because both life gain and Niv's payment are optional.
- Feast of Sanity uses the same eight-card cleanup loop while dealing 1 damage to any target on every discard. Reddit user pacotacobell called out the built-in damage finish. Modern Horizons 2 remains its only paper printing, but its supply is much deeper, so this is an interaction pick rather than a scarcity pick.

Excluded Reality Fracture Commander Specs
- Memnarch support: we do not expect enough dedicated Memnarch Commander adoption to create broad, durable demand.
- Avacyn support: the best pieces are broadly useful, heavily printed, or already expensive enough that the reveal adds less leverage.
- Omnath support: the mechanical hooks are narrower and less likely to produce concentrated purchases of one old card.
- Jhoira topdeck manipulation: the available cards are either well supplied or too clunky to become automatic inclusions.
- Venser turn-ending pieces: the strongest-known enablers have recent reprints or demand already reflected in price.
What changes our calls
Reality Fracture Commander Spec Checkpoints
- The Ur-Sphinx adoption: this is the largest early demand pool. Medomai's 79% inclusion is more persuasive than Enigma Thief's 29%, but neither is short on marketplace supply yet.
- Approach copies per list: Chimes only matters if a meaningful share of decks use the Sphinx's Approach package and run enough copies to draw matching pairs.
- Jace sample growth: two lists are not evidence of a metagame. Reality Scramble, Chandra, and Urabrask's Forge stay speculative until the commander attracts substantially more builders.
- Dack conversion: watch whether Bronze Bombshell, Steel Golem, and Grid Monitor remain common once lists move beyond the first week of brewing.
- Reprints: any inclusion in a future Commander deck can reset an old-card supply thesis immediately.
- Real inventory: a card is not meaningfully repriced until sales absorb copies across multiple sellers and conditions.
